ICP License Application Procedure

As per the existing laws and regulations of the ministry of industry and information technology of the People's Republic of China, all websites hosted on a server in mainland China must first obtain an ICP license. We have prepared this short guide to assist SinoHosting clients to understand better about the required documents and the application procedure.

Required Documents:

• Copy of original of the business license in China, with the company seal on it
• Domain name certificate
• ID card copy of contact person (must be Chinese national)
• Photo ID of contact person (must be Chinese national)
• Signed ICP application forms: Information to provide on the forms include:
  -Your official company name
  -Your company registered address
  -Name of the company investor(s)
  -Type of company
  -Contact person ID card number, mobile number, office line number, email account
  -Website information (domaine name, homepage, name of the website, type of website, type of content)
  All forms are provided in Chinese and should be filled in Chinese only.

Application Procedure:

• Purchase the relevant China hosting plan through our website.
• Download the application package and review the required documents. The link will be provided with your order confirmation email.
• Schedule a visit to our office for the contact person to have their photo taken (please review application package for other alternatives).
• Send the scanned versions of the signed forms by email for confirmation
• Send the signed original forms to the provided address for processing. Please send us the express tracking number by email or QQ for confirmation
• Updates to your application will be provided through your account at SinoHosting.net

Important Notes:

• We are unable to apply for licenses under individuals
• Foreign passport holders cannot be contact person for the website
• The application takes from 3 to 6 weeks on average depending of type of website and province of registration of the company
• After application is successfully submited please do not contact us for updates. Once approved (or denied) your provided contact person will be informed directly by the ICP bureau. SinoHosting does not have any mean to track on the status of an application.
• Foreign companies (including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan) cannot apply for an ICP license
• The ICP license cannot be applied for a website not hosted within mainland China
• During the application, the domain names needs to point to the relevant SinoHosting server in China. There will be no content on the website.
• Websites can not be hosted in Hong Kong or elsewhere while the ICP license is being processed.
• Once the ICP license application is successful, the website must display and maintain the ICP license number in the website footer, linked to the government website www.miitbeian.gov.cn
• Websites without an ICP license can not forward or point to websites with valid ICP licenses.
• We can help to apply for the ICP license only for websites hosted on SinoHosting's servers
• Our service fee for assisting in the ICP license application is RMB800 (one-time).
